Kano, Nigeria – In a momentous event at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Rano Airline was officially inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in the Nigerian aviation industry. The airline, owned by esteemed independent oil marketer Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Raño, popularly known as AA Raño, has obtained the necessary licenses from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to provide scheduled passenger services, cargo transportation, and charter flight operations.
With its operational base in Abuja, Rano Airline has set its sights on expanding its services to various locations in Nigeria and beyond. Initially, the airline will be operating from eight key stations, including Abuja, Kano, Lagos, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Kaduna, Yola, and Asaba.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including the Emir of Kano, Amb. Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa Autan Bawo III, Sarkin Shanun Lafian Bare-bari Alhaji Turaki Gamji, Kano State Deputy Governor Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, and several other dignitaries.
Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, while flagging off the first flight at the domestic wing of the airport, extended his warm congratulations to Rano Airline for this remarkable development. He urged affluent Nigerians to take inspiration from AA Raño’s exemplary commitment to job creation through his diverse investments across the country.
Rano Airline has kickstarted its operations with a fleet of five EMB 145 aircraft, equipped to deliver safe and efficient air travel services to passengers.
