The crocodile was a beloved pet, not a deity, according to Chief Raufu. It was fed and cared for by people from various backgrounds who visited the compound. Despite some speculation about its divine status, it was simply a cherished heritage passed down through generations.
Although the family was grieving, plans were underway for the crocodile’s burial in the family compound. Chief Raufu expressed confidence that the family’s heritage would continue to attract tourists and that they might acquire another pet in the future to uphold their ancestors’ legacy. Numerous objects were being prepared for the crocodile’s burial ceremony.
