Teams reaching the semi-finals but falling short of the ultimate glory will each receive $2.5 million, adding an extra layer of motivation for the squads to give their best until the very end. Moving down the ranks, the losing quarter-finalists (four teams) will each take home $1.3 million, while the eight teams eliminated in the round of 16 will receive a substantial $800,000 each.
