
In Kebbi State, Nigeria, an incident has occurred where a soldier allegedly shot and killed a person over the looting of foodstuff. According to a source within the state, soldiers were deployed to prevent looting at a certain location where residents were reportedly taking food supplies.
However, during the operation, the soldiers confronted shop owners nearby. In the ensuing altercation, one of the soldiers attacked a shop owner, mistakenly believing them to be involved in the looting. Tragically, the soldier shot the shop owner in the chest, resulting in the victim’s death.

The victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre but was declared dead upon arrival. Despite attempts to reach the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in the state, no response has been received.
This incident underscores the challenges and tensions surrounding security measures taken during times of crisis such as food shortages or looting incidents. It highlights the need for careful coordination and communication between security forces and civilians to prevent such tragic outcomes.
