During the media briefing, Ribadu outlined the positive developments that have already taken place in Nigeria’s security landscape. He pointed out a decline in criminal activities and a general improvement in the security situation. This positive trend, he believed, would continue as they tackle the formidable challenges ahead. Undeterred by the enormity of the task, Ribadu expressed confidence in the capabilities of the service chiefs, emphasizing that they had been chosen based on their exceptional qualities. He assured the nation that they would not disappoint and were committed to delivering the desired outcomes.

The meeting, held at Aso Rock, was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, Maj. Gen. C.G Musa; the Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen T. A Lagbaja; the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral E. A Ogalla; and the Chief of Air Staff, AVM H.B Abubakar. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, was also present, underscoring the collaborative nature of the discussions.

The security challenges in Nigeria demand a unified and comprehensive approach, involving the coordination of efforts from various security agencies. President Tinubu’s call for teamwork and collaboration among the service chiefs reflects the understanding that addressing the nation’s security concerns requires a collective strategy. By fostering a sense of unity and purpose, it is hoped that the newly appointed service chiefs will be able to overcome obstacles and effectively safeguard the country.
