Once enabled, users will encounter a new “HD” gear icon when attaching images to messages. This feature was initially showcased in beta versions, shared by trusted source WABetaInfo. The beta releases, versions 23.11.0.76 for iOS and 2.23.12.13 for Android, provided a sneak peek into the upcoming innovation.

Tapping the HD icon presents users with a choice between two resolution options: standard quality at 1600 x 1052 pixels and higher-definition quality at 4096 x 2692 pixels.
