In a major development regarding the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scandal, Mmesoma Ejikeme has come forward and admitted to forging her JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) result. The confirmation of this forgery comes from a report submitted by a panel appointed by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, which thoroughly investigated the controversy surrounding Mmesoma’s claimed score of 362. The panel’s report sheds light on the details of the forgery and provides compelling evidence to support the claims.
The report, obtained by PREMIUM TIMES, reveals that Mmesoma confessed to single-handedly manipulating her JAMB result before seeking assistance from a cyber cafe for printing. Led by Professor Nkemdili Nnonyelu, the panel conducted a comprehensive review of Mmesoma’s JAMB results and interviewed relevant individuals, including JAMB officials and the candidate herself. During the investigation, JAMB officials presented compelling evidence indicating that Mmesoma had repeatedly requested her results, with each response showing an aggregate score of 249. However, she deliberately sent a manipulated result to JAMB, claiming a total score of 362.
The report also highlights several red flags identified by JAMB officials, including inconsistencies in Mmesoma’s date of birth, registration number, and the use of an outdated notification of results template. Furthermore, it was revealed that Mmesoma manipulated the name of the examination center on her forged result sheet. In the presence of her school principal and the Education Secretary, Mmesoma admitted to the panel that the description provided by JAMB officials accurately represented the events. She also confessed to personally manipulating the results using her phone and subsequently printing the forged document at a local cyber cafe.
Based on the panel’s findings, it is now conclusively established that Mmesoma’s genuine UTME score, as released by JAMB, is 249. This revelation completely discredits her paraded result of 362. The principal of Anglican Girls Secondary School and the Education Secretary expressed shock and disappointment at Mmesoma’s actions, as she not only deceived her school and family but also the state government.
In light of the investigation, the panel has put forward several recommendations. Firstly, Mmesoma is required to issue a written apology to JAMB, her school, and the Anambra State Government promptly. Additionally, she is strongly advised to undergo psychological counseling and therapy. The panel emphasizes the importance of future JAMB candidates strictly adhering to the guidelines, processes, and procedures set forth by the examination body.
The panel commends JAMB for their diligent handling of the matter and expresses hope that the uncovering of the truth through this investigation will help dispel the misconceptions and deceptions surrounding the controversy. Governor Charles Soludo is acknowledged for establishing the panel and placing trust in its work.
The admission of Mmesoma Ejikeme’s forgery of her JAMB result has ignited significant public interest and sparked intense debate. The submission of the panel’s report serves as a crucial reference point, providing a clear understanding of the truth behind this highly contentious issue.
