Kebbi Governor’s Wife Calls on Parents to Support Hijab-Wearing for Girls

Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, the wife of Kebbi State’s governor, has called on parents to promote hijab-wearing among young Muslim girls, emphasizing its role in preserving dignity and moral values.

Speaking on World Hijab Day, she described the hijab as a protective shield that upholds integrity and discourages immorality. She also urged husbands to support their wives in wearing the hijab in public.

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, echoed the importance of hijab-wearing, urging girls and women to see it as a symbol of self-respect.

Hajiya Balkisu Zaki of FOMWAN encouraged women of all backgrounds to try wearing the hijab for a day to foster appreciation and inclusivity.
