How to “Fix Internal Server Error” and Print Your NSCDC, Immigration, Fire, and Correctional Recruitment Examination Slip

Many applicants are receiving an “Internal Server Error” message on recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng immediately after updating their profiles or attempting to print their examination slips for the NSCDC, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Correctional Service recruitment exercises. This guide explains why the error occurs and provides a step-by-step solution to help you print your exam slip successfully.

Why the Internal Server Error appears

The error is generally a server-side issue. Common causes include:

Step-by-step guide to fix the error and print your exam slip

Step 1 — Use the official portal
Open the official site: https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Do not use links shared on WhatsApp or social media unless they point to this domain.

Step 2 — Confirm your profile is complete and valid
Before submitting, ensure all required fields are filled and valid (name spelling, date of birth, phone number, email, and any required ID numbers). Correct any invalid fields and save.

Step 3 — Clear browser cache and cookies
Browser settings → Privacy/History → Clear browsing data → select Cookies and Cached images and files → Clear. Then close and reopen the browser.

Step 4 — Use Incognito / Private mode
Open a private window (Incognito) and log in. This forces a fresh session and avoids stale cache issues.

Step 5 — Try a different browser or device
If you were using Chrome, try Firefox, Edge, or another browser. If possible, switch to another device (another phone, tablet, or PC).

Step 6 — Check and stabilize your internet connection
Switch to a stronger network (Wi-Fi or a better mobile data provider). Avoid networks that frequently switch between mobile towers or drop packets.

Step 7 — Submit once — then wait
After correcting details, click Submit only once. Wait 30–60 seconds for the server to respond. Repeated clicks may cause duplicate requests and increase the chance of an error.

Step 8 — Attempt to print the exam slip
After successful submission, locate the Print Exam Slip or Exam Slip link on the portal dashboard. Use the browser’s print function (Ctrl+P / ⌘+P) and choose Save as PDF or select a printer. If printing fails, try downloading the PDF first then printing from a PDF reader.

Step 9 — If the error persists, retry during off-peak hours
Portals are less busy early morning (before 8:00 AM) or late night. Retry at those times to reduce the chance of server overload.
