
In a significant move, President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi as the acting Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). This decision was prompted by the outgoing Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, who was directed to take a three-month leave in anticipation of his retirement on January 17, 2024.
Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi, who previously served as the Permanent Secretary of the State House, is set to take up his official duties as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON on January 17, 2024, aligning with the official retirement of his predecessor. Furthermore, President Tinubu has given his approval for the dissolution of the Hassan-led Board of the Commission.
