Kebbi Governor-elect vows to revolutionize education sector, reward teachers on earth
Dr Nasir Idris, the Governor-elect of Kebbi State in Nigeria, has promised to galvanize the education sector and give it a genuine and functional direction in the state. He expressed his commitment to equip the state’s schools with learning materials and facilities to improve the quality of education. He also assured teachers that they would be rewarded on earth before they receive their rewards in the hereafter. Idris emerged victorious in the governorship election, having polled 409,225 votes, defeating his closest rival, Maj. Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd), who polled 360,940 votes.
The governor-elect pledged to ensure that Kebbi State is no longer listed among the states placing last in the West African Examination Council, National Examination Council, and National Business and Technical Examinations Board’s examinations. He also promised to make Kebbi State the food basket of the nation and create millionaire farmers by introducing different welfare policies and programmes for the betterment of the state’s youths and women.
Idris urged his opponents at the election to join hands with his administration in his quest to make Kebbi greater. He commended Gov. Atiku Bagudu for his commitment to a better state and his unflinching support for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi. He also expressed gratitude to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Malam Abubakar Malami, former Gov. Saidu Dakingari, and other members of the campaign council for their support in the success of the party in the state.
