Kebbi Gov’s Wife Empowers Women, Youths with ₦20,000 Cash and Rice

The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Nafisa Idris, has distributed bags of rice and ₦20,000 cash to 1,000 women and youths in Bayan Kara and Gotar Aliero communities of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area.

The outreach, held on Thursday, was aimed at easing hardship and providing direct support to residents.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Idris said the initiative was part of her appreciation for the continuous support given to the administration of Governor Nasir Idris. She emphasized that the government places a strong priority on the welfare of citizens.

She also encouraged beneficiaries and residents to participate actively in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise, noting that securing voter cards would enable them to take part in the 2027 general elections.

Earlier, the Ward Chairman of Nassarawa 1, Nasiru Aliyu, praised the governor’s wife for the gesture, describing it as timely support that would have a significant impact on families. He urged beneficiaries to put the aid to good use while reaffirming community support for government efforts.

Also speaking, the APC Vice-Chairman of Kebbi State, Musa Augie, commended the initiative and underscored the importance of voter registration. He reminded residents that the voter card remains the most powerful tool for citizens to elect credible leaders.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the intervention. Aisha Musa, a recipient, said the bag of rice and cash would help feed her family and boost her petty trade. Another beneficiary, Umar Abdullahi, noted that the ₦20,000 support came at the right time as he plans to invest in farm inputs ahead of the dry season.
