Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has inaugurated a transition committee to ensure a seamless handover to the incoming administration. The committee, which will be chaired by the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Umar Yauri, will collate and submit inventory on assets and liabilities, including staff strength, for the incoming government.
In addition to the Acting Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, and Acting Clerk to the State House of Assembly, the committee also includes representatives from the Commissioner of Police and the State Director, Department of State Service, DSS. The Governor-elect, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, also nominated other members of the committee, with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government, serving as the Secretary.
During the inauguration, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu emphasized the importance of the transition process and requested the committee members to swing into action. He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for signing Executive Order 13, essential for the transition process.
The transition committee will identify areas of priorities of campaign promises made by the Governor-elect and organize a smooth and colourful handover. Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu also directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to give the transition council maximum support for optimum results.
The ceremony was attended by the Governor-elect, the State APC Chairman, and the Deputy DG Campaign Council. The transition committee members include Permanent Secretaries from various ministries and departments, as well as representatives from the State High Court and Kebbi State House of Assembly.
With the inauguration of the transition committee, Kebbi state is poised for a smooth handover to the incoming administration, ensuring continuity and progress for the state.
