A recent status report from the BringBackOurGirls campaign group, as of October 2022, revealed that out of the 276 kidnapped girls, 57 managed to escape captivity, 107 were released, 16 were rescued by the military, leaving 96 still missing. However, according to Yakubu Nkeki, the leader of the Chibok Parents Association, 138 girls have been rescued or released, while 82 remain in captivity.
